The device is now offered over the air upgrade to Android 6.0, which I found doubles the battery life while the device is in "sleep mode" (i.e. not being used).

My niece wanted an iPad but because it was too expensive and we couldn't afford it, we opted for the Nexus 9. If you are from UK, Argos offers the Nexus 9 for £179.99 (that's £119.00) but offer ends 6 October 2015. I would personally have gone for the iPad Air 2 if I could afford it because iOS is well optimised for the iPad and better battery life. Android on tablets is just a scaled up of the mobile version.
However, the Nexus 9 is an awesome tablet. Receive the updates immediately. Great dual front facing speakers and performs smoothly. The battery life and build could have been better.

any model having external card slot?No calling feature but SMS is available for LTE model only.
SD card slot is not available in all Nexus model.

JD, 15 Sep 2015the processor is only dual core....!!It dosent matter if its only dual core.Its a 64 bit processor K1 tegra cpu,similar to the ones used in high end computing systems.It can handle most of intensive tasks and is pretty good at multitasking,the only thing it falls short of is RAM,in my opinion 2GB does not do justice to its beefy CPU and GPU.
