K800i is equiped with both ccd & cmos where as nokia is only having cmos
K800 is the absolute clear winner
hardly take any video using my phone,so i am buying the k800i bcoz of its superior image quality
This is EXACTLY the kind of review I was looking for. Thanks for your useful article!
Does anyone know if these are CCD or CMOS sensors in these phones? Anyone know who the manufacturer might be?
can the shutter sound of the K800i be turned off? (camera)
i liked k800i, the photographs taken in your review are self explanotary about its camera quality. they just over shadow nokia. and in terms of usability i prefer SE and the main reason for that is their UN-smartness. nokia phones, sorry to say are becoming too over smart. It gets so confusing with all the computer like features and biggest hassle these days are the mobile virus these days are specifically designed of symbian based phones. My frnd just lost 500€ cause of the damn virus.
aint i already tired of keeping my PC safe from viruses? i aint got no time to let the viruses bother me in my phone too. I wud stay away from symbian as long as possible ( i doubt that will be long). and K800i looks exclusively posh and pretty.
I blieve only in nokia,as its d fone wid simple features&specifications.
Talking bout Sony has excellent sound quality bt has a complicated
features. As I believe Nokia has a MONOPOLY & is d best made 4 very long life.

So...congratulations about this test it is really good! I have wondering about K800 and K790, IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO CAMERAS? Please answer of my question, 10x
I narrowed my search down to the N80 and K800i and really appreciated the reviews as i coudln't make my mind up between one and the other , this has been a godsend .
Thanks
thank you very much about all the info in the site ,my comment is in sony ericsson k750&k800 ther is no privacy in the files such as videos,pictures,... i mean you cant lock it by password
At first, I couldnt quite decide which camera phone to purhcase, but this review has been extremely helpful. I am gradually leaning towards the N80 side as , with the slightly better video ( or near vcd? quality)
it becomes some all rounder. I dont use my Sony Cybershot 7.2mp much, so a 3mp with some video is an acceptable trade-off. One important subject missing in this comparison is the night shots. Indoors, low light, and perhaps outdoors on objects with text ( for clarity assessment) , and zooming on distant text objects.
Nokia N80 is the best!!
The difference between EDGE and 3G is that EDGE technology is in fact 2.5G on drugs so to speak. EDGE isn't true 3G but sped up to run at the same speeds. True 3G is normally a network that runs totally on its own 3G network. Oh the joys of working in a mobile phone shop lol
Hi,
I interest to buy a cell phone is for internet accesss on my laptop. Yes I am talking about EDGE technology. Just wanted to ask you if what is the difference between EDGE and 3G technology. Can K800 which has 3G technology yield me higher speed with a telecommunication provider which is not 3G but has EDGE technology in it. Should I wait for K790 or go ahead with K800
n80 is better
while comparing k800i n80 i would like to appritiate k800i bcz
no good resolution is found in n80 althougt its screen is wide but i prefere k800i
I think the K800 rocks what i really want to know is when sony is bring out a 5MP phone
nokia is a user friendly mobile but in case of sony ericsson it doesn't. but k800 3 mp is an ultimate phones for the future user. nokia can do better, but they cant beat sony ericsson.sony feaures is quiet simple and to use it.The main thing is memory card, power of sony do the flash in speed. But in n80, its more slower when more files added. k800 is simply the best. According to my decession.
Just upgraded from K750i to the N80 and I must say it's far better. The Symbian OS gives me the freedom to install any software I want onto the phone, something that the SE kit it lacking. Don't get me wrong, I loved my SEs. I've come from the T610, to the K700 and finished up with the K750i. The K800 looks like a fantastic phone, and has great camera/flash/auto focus - but without the S60 OS it's just going to get left behind.
If you are looking to make calls, send txt, take pics then the K800 is fine. If you want a bit more from your phone then it's the N80 all the way.
