What exactly is Netflix trying to do, shoot themselves in the foot? I think I can safely say that NO rooted user will go back to an un-rooted device unless under extremely dire circumstances. Which means that most if not all rooted users will sideload until a Google play workaround is found, which in turn means that until then Netflix is decreasing their own Google Play revenue.
Yes I know that rooted users represent a very small minority and the Google Play revenue Netflix gets from these users is probably a drop in the bucket compared to their total revenue, but losing potential money (and customers) should be no company's aim, even one as big as Netflix.

Oh well, just means I will be cutting by my Netflix sub from level 2 to level 1. Maybe even drop it entirely, as their selection of "new" releases keep getting more and more pathetic.

Just means more time with my family, so thanks Netflix for cutting your own wrists in my household.

seems like they're just giving more incentive to pirate things... All of my phones are rooted, primarily for customization, I use netdicks on a daily basis, if people really wanted to download shows though they could still use torrenting software without root.. or just go onto sites like gomovies, this seems like a good way to lose customers.

Because we can't tolerate people owning their devices. It may lead them to dangerous things like ... Freedom.

Seriously though, Netflix has zero ways to be impacted negatively by root. That's an obvious d*ck move against movers.

If I wanted an iPhone I would lad bought an iPhone thank you very much...
