mir, 16 May 2017Is it a mate 9 you own right now?Yes it is. Waited for s8 to see how I will like it and it was a huge let down for me. Cant see note 8 being anything else than more of the same. Really like my mate, only missing amoled and s pen.

In upfront, it is 100% needless to say that Samsung is and it is even a definitive must to work as hard as possible on the Note 8. Because this will be the most crucial and definitely the last stand of the flagship Note model (series/line). So they just absolutely can't afford almost not even one single mistake (the next right or it's over). Having said that, this is a/the realistic wish list of/for the Note 8:
(Obviously, plus everything of the already S8 duo and an upgraded SPen).
1• Fingerprint embedded in/under the display.
        2• Dual camera setup.
        3• 6GB RAM.
4• Dual stereo speakers (the long awaited).
5• Bigger battery (although it is the most unlikely due to what happened previously).
6• Holistically finalized Bixby (or better only Google assistant).
7• Quick Charge 4.0 (or similar from Samsung).
        8&9• Front flash & 4K rec.
        (Hopefully).

Another style less slab of glass from Sammy. They are really trying to "out Apple" Apple with their total lack of imagination.

While BlackBerry and Sony will not match Sammy or Apple's shear sales numbers, at least they are providing some original designs instead of Sammy and Apple fighting over who can make the easiest to drop piece of glass.

All the while the cheap Chinese knockoff companies keep trying to make even worse copies of those aforementioned dated designs. Set a dozen different models from them together, and show me a whit of difference between them, other than camera or button locations.

AnonD-373241, 16 May 2017Exactly. Note phones about width, not how tall. Who cares about one handed use. Give us a prem... moreSpot on mate , the new trendy tall and narrow form will appeal to some people , but some of us want the full size screen .
if your device is narrow you lose ceiling when its in landscape , and the only option is to make the image smaller and wider or lose some of the image, not to mention narrow screens have narrow key boards and smaller buttons in portrait mode which are not ideal for big fingers .
i have looked at G6 ,S8 , S8 plus , and while they are all top shelf devices , the screen form factor is not for me .

I think it will rather be a 6.4 inch screen for the Note8, if last year's trend is anything to go by.

At the moment it just gets in the way of the volume rocker on the S8+

Now we can see why Samsung held back the Dual Camera from the S8+
Aside from S Pen there isn't any real improvement over the S8+.
Samsung... this is what apple does... you guys should be better than that.

I was considering the Note 8 but 0.1", S pen and dual camera isn't worth it for me.
If the camera has a noticeable improvement over the S8+ I will consider it but the S8+ is pretty tough to beat.
