[deleted post]When you don't have an argument you either move the goalpost or start calling the person names. My argument was sound. We keep throwing the word innovative at anybody who can shop at the shopping bins. In reality, only two companies control the destiny of the entire mobile world. Have we not learn anything the Trump administration did to Huawei? It showed us how reliant all those box shippers are. That's what my argument is about, about getting more companies to take ownership of their destiny, but some of you can't see beyond your narrow minded hurt ego.

As it stands, they are pushing more of their services and are not resorting to $700 discounts. :)

I am however providing clear and easily available evidence that Apple is struggling to find buyers. Had the iPhone 11 been a guaranteed hit, Apple wouldn't spend around a thousand bucks fencing 800 dollar phones to synthetically boost "sales" numbers.

BestBuy have a huge $700 discount on the Galaxy Note9 on Verizon and Sprint because they cannot shift the thing fast enough, you can have a look at it on Phone,Arena.

Do Apple bundle more or less one year free streaming services this year compared to last year? Were you able to get a 700 dollar trade in on ANY iPhone, NO MATTER CONDITION, last year?
It's fun to see Apple sales people completely ignoring all Apple discounts when they start whining about other brands.
You want to know why Apple does this? Because Samsung sales are going up and Apple sales are going down.

73% of smartphone profits and 51% of premium smartphone market share, incredibly impressive, 22% for Samsung and their endless devices. Thanks for this, it will come in very useful.

Samsung’s cheap Galaxy A devices are where most of their profits are made and they are puny profits vs Apple.

Here you go, not a SINGLE Samsung Flagship doing big numbers, the only flagship phone in this list is the Apple iPhone XS Max, lol, Apple continues to be the only phone maker who does big numbers with $1000 phones:

Samsung has been a consistent multi billion dollar profit machine for decades. Yes, much thanks to Huawei, Xiaomi and Apple sales. This because Samsung tends to be the supplier of choice if a manufacturer needs something bleeding edge. That said, Samsung's flagship devices are the big sellers at the moment, as they're real flagships and not overpriced 4G junk like what Apple tries to fence for 1,500 bucks at your local dealer.

So was that big screen on your iPhone... And all the OEM features that Google invented (read stole) from Huawei and Samsung were so amazing, weren't they? Google is ad company at core, their lifetime hardware sales are less than what Samsung sells in a weekend after launch of it's flagships. Apple is reliant on hardware. They realize that they're messing up, that's why you're being pushed to their services. Enjoy being their slave. Have a great day....

toukale, 08 Nov 2019If you read forums on techsites everyone is trying to push their agenda or their preferred oem... moreVery true, ultimately Apple and Google are the ones who take the most the profit out of all this. Despite Apple being 3rd in Market Share, they still take well over 60% of the profits in mobile, so they don’t really feel the need.

The box shipments like Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi etc... make peanuts compared to what Apple make here, that’s why these guys have to push volumes and do major discounts.

If you read forums on techsites everyone is trying to push their agenda or their preferred oem du jour. From someone looking on the outside, this tells me only two companies are actually innovating since they are the ones controlling the platforms: Apple and Google, everyone else is a box shipper. It is the reason why we are stuck in the current iPhone template and it drives me crazy.

I am not counting on all those box shippers (Sumsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, HTC, etc) to move us beyond the current template. If anything, they have proven none of them are capable of it. Google and Apple seems happy with the current arrangement and are in no rush to change the status quo, can't say I blame them. What a shame for the rest of us.
