Why I prefer UDFS is because I don't have to pick up the phone everytime I want to unlock it. I can simply touch the display and...it's unlocked

The poll results might have something to do with the fact that Apple still has the only good face recognition tech in a phone and that GSMA is festering with Android fanboys

And your sons or parents can fool it without be near you so they safety can buy and do things without be near you while you are sleeping. So no, face id is not recomended to if you want to enable payments in your phone. At least, the fingerprint require you to touch the phone. I doubt your son know how to imitate your fingerprint. You can use a long password or complex pattern but an interested person could also be recording you using it too... so choose yourself.

Face recognition is Much safer then fingerprint wile you are sleeping 😴. No one can open your mobile without your will as your eyes are closed but In case of fingerprint it is not safe as anyone can use your finger while u are sleeping 😴 and you will be unaware of it .

I had only Android phones until last year starting with Galaxy S2, mostly Samsung but I got a Pixel 2 XL also. Last year someone gave me as a gift an iPhone XR. I was an advocate of fingerprint readers placed on the back of the phone because compared with most people I always placed my phone face down on a table.

So at first I received FaceID as a downgrade. One year later, I very cheaply traded in my iPhone XR for the new 11 mostly because of security reasons (work related). Apple Pay combined with FaceID is more secure and the main reason I will stay at least one more year with an iPhone. Unfortunately Google is lagging behind for now on that front.

At worst i have to try 3 times because my screen is off and i miss the scanner. One area where it could really use some improvement is the size of the scanner so i wouldn't miss it when i'm not paying attention where i place my finger.
