When shot close enough, 50mm view still have a little "big nose" effect. The background compression is also another thing many people prefer long focal length over 85mm. But 50mm does have its versatility

dude the train is not moving, the samples show how you can bring the background closer changing the focal length.

Well, 2X in smartphone terms (50 mm in Camera terms) is the best focal length to shoot portraits (People) as they appear natural. So I am just glad that this has that as an available focal length.
Also, cropping into a 3.7X camera to produce 5X results ain't that bad. I mean, it's saving that pricey periscope module.

Even the fastest UHS-1 card a Xiaomi device support won't be of any match to UFS 2.1 read and write speed. Again, just remember that Mi Note Series has no microSD. I don't even know why people are asking microSD for a phone that is always designed not to. I say this again, asking a microSD on this series is already a wrong premise.

You can live without ... moreXiaomi still has one of the lowest-priced, if not the most, storage option there is. Having an SD-card isn't a NEED anymore, in fact, it could even be a disadvantage. Disadvantage? Yeah because, it's nowhere near the read especially write speed of a UFS, it's even slower than eMMC. If you buy this phone and opt to save your images by default to your microSD, the 27MP and (especially) the 108MP images would be dog slow. You should also check that you're looking at a Mi Note, they don't have a card slot. You're barking at a wrong tree.

The laat time I uploaded my pics at Google Photos, the quality has been degraded. I didn't notice that until I compared the uploaded pic from Google Photos against the same pic that I kept on my hard drive.

This whole articles sums up on why I frequently relying on smartphone's telephoto camera. People always say that it's the ultrawide that you will need the most, but honestly speaking I don't even remember when was the last time I use my phone's ultrawide camera.
