Nolan, 10 Nov 2019That is a lie. MediaTek chips have ALWAYS have had non-existent to problematic GPS. MT6589 ... moreAs Always, you don't give any proof!

And your exemple makes me laugh!
Mt6589? Are you serious? It's not even 4g!!!
Welcome to 2013!!!!
True this soc and the previous one (mt6577) equiped many phones that had GPS's problems...but wake up, it was in 2012/2013!
It's not even sure that problem came from soc (antenna? Software?)

Try some Oppo or Xiaomi phones with mediatek's instead...no need to use Engineer mode to get very fast and accurate fix with, for exemple, Oppo A3, Redmi 6 or Redmi Note 8 Pro for exemple.

Please, tell me the name of the devices you had in hand?

With much more competitive price than Snapdragon or Bionic they would and should be more preferable.
Because greedy manufacturers like Samsung Sony or other companies can save a lot on a chipsets but keep same price to increase profits.

I heard that MediaTek 5G chipset is 7nm in size. Would be a tough competition to even Snapdragon 855+.

It's probably mostly due to the fact that manufacturers wants to get the next gen wireless out before they're done building an all-in-one SoC.

Never buy any phone powered by MediaTek processor. Unless you want really bad phone with no updates and slower performance after few months. Only Apple's processor can compete with Snapdragon.
