Processor used is too old. It should have used Sanpdragon 855+ & battery is so small. That's why Japanese companies are lagging behind in technology as compared to Chinees whic are offering new technologies at cheaper rate.

Even though this phone is a crazy good deal of a midranger and a justifiable price-point for a newly-released smartphone, I would say that this is way too late of a release at this point in time. There were proper old flagships that would rival and even exceed this smartphone on the same current pricepoint for example: LG V30.

Baykko, 11 Nov 2019These chips might be more powerful but since they use older architectures they are also more p... moreSon the A73 is most power efficient OoO core ever designed & A55 ain't more efficient in performance/W than older A53, while build processes (lithography) is still competitive (S835 Samsung first gen 10 nm, S845 second gen 10 nm (while it's A75 cores aren't among more efficient ones) in comparison S730 uses Samsung 8 nm (10 nm third generation) & MTK uses TSMC 12nm ( third generation 14 nm) while coming with buffer and even less efficient A76 big core's (but only two of them & lower clocked). In many ways the S835 whose one of QC's (& all around) best designs.

S835 is still very competitive with newer midrange SoC's it loses slightly to the newer siblings with A76 CPUs in single core performance (20%) which is something you will hardly feel in every day use. It's GPU is still significantly faster (30~40%) than of those highly marketing presented so called gaming mid range SoC's alike S730T & G90 which is something you yust could feel. Regarding efficiency it's competitive also (10 nm first gen Samsung FinFet). Unfortunately the Sharp probably won't be available internationally all do I would like something with their up to date IGZO LCD displays. Recommendation in uper mid range class right now goes to last year's flagships with S845 as you pretty much get better everything for a same money (300~400$).

Why woukld you buy a poorly optimized phone with useless cameras when xiaomi mi 8 and poco f1 are 250 euroes with sd 845. Id pay 50-60 more for finished older phones with greap optimization than new garbsge.

This AQUOS V is actually perfect for me except for being a little too tall. I figure it's about the same height as an iPhone XR and Pixel 3a which still isn't too bad.

- No notch
- Bigger battery than my Essential Phone
- Snapdragon 835 is still battery efficient and snappy
- Stock Android Pie (I hate Android 10)
I hope this phones makes it internationally. I'm a pretty simple guy nowawdays. I would prefer to be stuck with a 2017 flagship specs with 2018's Android update for as long as I could. Same people who love the iPhone SE and will never leave that form factor.

Snapdragon 835 is now considered a midranger? Sign me up! My Essential Phone still runs smoothly. This thing only costs $230 and has a headphone jack. This blows away every midranger out there. Even the 3a. The 635 is still more powerful than the 670.
