I had this situation with my redmi note 3 that it couldn't get charged and the problem wasn't just the usb connector, the whole sub motherboard was faulty and needed to be replaced, fortunately I found that part for just 4$ and replaced it and the problem got resolved. just imagine what would be the situation if motherboard design was like this.
5000+ mAh battery, 5 cameras on the back, front FPS and yet still has earphone jack. What kind if sorcery is this??

A hot air gun, flux & 37/63 solder will do the job.
My personal concern is regarding the USB C connector, as it seems soldered to the mainboard. Usually any hardware, no matter how great, will only be as good as the battery. As it degrades and dies, so does the entire hardware (and the phone).
Although the topic of replaceable batteries is important for any longevity and reliability of a phone (which manufacturers will deliberately do their best to NOT enhance), the issue now is how the USB C connector (not just the battery anymore) is now just as good as the entire hardware. It's something we use daily, to charge battery or to transfer files. So touch wood, if anything happens to it or faulty, the *entire motherboard goes along with it. This is the same issue with entire Galaxy S10 series.
Usually you will see a mainboard and subboard layout design, which allows you to repair your speakers module or charging connector without affecting the motherboard.
Of course, the manufacturer makes more money from repairs then, but this is frown upon and very Apple-ish.
SkyMasterARC, 12 Nov 2019They should make a note 10t or something with 6.7 inch screen, camera downgraded to 48 MP and ... more855 for power users who use excel and maybe calculator at the same time. Bro you sure are funny, keep it up
They should make a note 10t or something with 6.7 inch screen, camera downgraded to 48 MP and hardware upgraded to snapdragon 855. For power users, not photographers.
