Anonymous, 15 Nov 2019Europe refulations are crazy. Why would someone need a DIFFERENT wallet app? I mean it’s just ... moreno they are not.

I do not possess a visa/mastercard card, I use deutsche bank account.

To use apple pay I have to use a virtual card created by deutsche bank app for only apple pay. It works fine but now my data is stored with "deutsche bank + apple + mastercard".

Instead when nfc is open, then only deutsche bank knows my information. All machines in europe/germany support 'EC payments' as alternative to visa/master.

That's what happens with monopolies. This ruling will effectively prevent this.

123, 15 Nov 2019and where exactly do we have NFC pos terminals?? 90% of them are MST ;))))almost 100% of terminals I used in past 2 years support nfc

more than 50% of terminals do not accept magnetic cards, either EMV chip cards or 'tap and pay'

Europe refulations are crazy. Why would someone need a DIFFERENT wallet app? I mean it’s just a wallet app and it does what it should be doing. What benefits would other similar apps bring to the table? Apart from security issues

NFC in Germany?.. Who needs it?
Their technology's still in medieval.
No proper internet,
no mobile coverage,
no accepting cards in parking machines ( or payment thru mobile application)....

Regarding the write up thoughts on whether other countries will follow suit, EU law dictates that a ruling like this in one EU country applies to all others unless the defendant can overturn it in Maastricht.

Google Pay is only one of many payments you can have on Android, I haven't seen anyone complaining about security. But iPhone users are already used to this kind of limitations I believe...

The thing in Germany, and in Eastern Europe too, is that we still prefer cash compared to other western European countries. I see banks pushing card payments but if you go outside cities, there are chances you will come across a bar or a restaurant that does not accept card payments. Cash is still going strong and people want it to stay that way, despite banks introducing all kinds of charges for depositing cash in banks.

- Apple's response to the ruling came soon as the iPhone maker pointed out the possible security and data breaches that could follow as a result.

Yeah, it's always the security that is the same lame excuse every time.
