nemmondod, 01 Jan 2011wow :) this was my first phone back in 2000. I still have it, it was/is a great phone. I bough... moreThis was also my first cell from 2000 even though it was the 5190 style(basically the same phone). I had it for 10 years until October 2009. I only replaced it because I could'nt get replacements batteries anymore, even from the aftermarket.

wow :) this was my first phone back in 2000. I still have it, it was/is a great phone. I bought it second hand, the price was higher than a brand new 5110, but i didn't mind. I wish i had a 6310(6310i) to add to my "phones what i wanted but couldn't buy" collection :)).

This phone is a perfect combination of simplicity, style, superb built quality and endurance. Just perfect! If you use one of this you really feel the diference compare with today's rubbish 15 mega pixels, 1689 mil. colors & 16 Gb memory piece of garbage. I don't really need all of this features. All I need is a mobile phone, and in those terms nobody beat 6110, ever!

My first Nokia.
After owning Motorola's previously, the 6110 was light years ahead in design, function, and performance.

IMHO, 6110 is the quickest responding to keypad input, loudest speaker volume handset I have owned so far.

Not even my replacement 7110, 7210, nor my current E72, are able to respond as quickly when writing an SMS or MMS.
Likewise they are not as quick as 6110 when navigating Menu shortcuts.
Something the combined might of Symbian OS 9.3, Series 60 v3.2 and ARM 11 600 MHz processor in my E72 struggle with... speed and response.

Speaker Loudness is another area that 6110 still maintains an noticeable advantage over all the replacement Nokia's I owned.

While I don't doubt I can't live without the features found in the current generation of smartphones like Nokia E series, and above.
As much as I look forward to features like:
- Super AMOLED
- increased pixel densities to minimum 1024x576 for up to 4 inch displays
- multi-lingual display support for internet browsing
- return of the excellent Stopwatch, Countdown Timer, and comprehensive Converter found in the Nokia 7210 that some unknown reason Nokia did not include in E72.
Worse, neither are available to purchase from the Ovi Store to the same level of functionality, or better, found in 7210!?

I do sincerely hope that the latest 1GHz processor generation of handsets, offering at least 512 MB RAM, with 2GB ROM, and beyond.
Bring back the lightning speed and response I enjoyed with 6110.
Be it a Nokia, or another brand.
I look forward to rewarding their efforts to return the speed and response enjoyed in the late nineties with 6110.
By buying their latest, greatest, that delivers said performance, with Qwerty keypad.

My thanks and congratulations to the R&D team at Nokia responsible for the Nokia 6110.
A classic handset in my eyes, and one that I feel played a major role in cementing Nokia's dominance in the GSM market that it still enjoys today.
Thanks for the 6110.
