The Blackjack2 is a great phone -- Aside for all the marketed functionality you can make the phone do alot of other things via hacks and mods -- use GPS with any application, use the phone as a wireless modem for you computer, etc. Checkout myblackjack2.com hacks and mods sections for a nice list.
copy the mp3 file you want to use as the message tone to the system files folder, it will then appear as a selectable file to use as a message tone.
Does anyone know how to asign an mp3 file to the massage tone on this phone?
I just "upgraded" from a Blackberry 7130 and I must say, this phone is great. I have used other phones and this phone is by far one of the best I've used...no phone is perfect and just like any phone, it has its faults. I am not a fan of Windows period but this interface is not bad; although it does take a little effort to use. The 3G is a big plus, websites seem to just pop up. The GPS I think only works with TelNav (not paying)...I install google maps and it will not find a satellite. Other than that I think it is nearly perfect. I'd take it over the iPhone any day.
The blackjack II is like hitting the jackpot.
for a low price phone it can't be beat.
i have had blackberry's and other phones and tthis phone has it all.
who needs wi-fi when you have a true 3G network.
hm..
I thought this phone has wifi..
maybe I was wrong..
you need to put some effort on this phone to use it property. Such as read notepad documents or detail setting.
So if you don't care about how to use WM, it would be better to just use nokia or moto because they are much easier to use than blackjack.
it could be better but it's good for the price
dont buy this phone if you dont know how to use it! this phone is not for s****d people.
this phone are for people who knows how to use a pc.
When I signed up for AT&T service to get my iPhone, I got this phone for my girlfriend. She likes it for the most part. Her only complaints are the lack of Wi-Fi but she's got 3G so that makes up for it. The phone freezes from time to time, like all windows mobile phones. She chose this over the Blackberry Curve mainly for the 3G and multimedia capabilities.
it is not a true pda can't sync all files like notes and does not give you the option to do change much last one i buy
i do not own one yet but i am going to give it a shot friday when att offers the $100. flat rate and get the phone free/the only thing that see is that the the camera will be a little lacking
Why no wi-fi! They are trying to make you pay more for service when SO many phones today come with wi-fi.
Also, why hardly any memory within the phone itself? You have to buy memory . .
And the circular navigation is not so great ..
def. 1 of the best phones ive had n recent years. gps is kinda slow buh ather den dat everythin seems 2 b great!fast connection online.lots of features and easy 2 use.
This phone is really nice, but it's camera sucks ballz and i mean it REALLY REALLY sucks. Speakerphone is good but processor is slow and has no wifi. i own one so i know. It has GPS but it can only be used with telenav. For the other things, it is perfect, the keypad is also really nice.
very nice phone indeed except they fail to inform u that it is basically the same as the original blackjack BUT NONE of the accessories used with the orginal blackjack are compatable with the blackjack 2 and the blackjack 2 accessories NOT currently available in the stores very disappointing
awesome phone! sleek! sexy! tons of features! if it had wifi, i'd be in heaven..
no WiFi?arrghh! almost perfect =(
For the people who don't know, the 5-way directional pad below the screen is also a wheel [like the newer CDMA LG Chocolate], which replaced the scrollwheel on the side of the old BlackJack.
This phone should be more towards the top, it's way newer than the BlackJack and i600.
Its a mistake, it have a gps receiver i think
