the sidekick/hiptops cant really be compared to other phones. reason being is the type of plan they are on. in australia it is sold through telstra on the hiptop plan where internet/sms/email/im is unlimited and "free". so the entire point of this device is not to be a standard phone but actually a thing for teens to be on the net/msn/myspace etc all day. so the features are pretty damn average but the point and plan is incredible so in the end its a pretty good package....$30 a month for unlimited internet/sms/mms is pretty good.

danger doesnt make sidekicks. they like program the apps and stuff. It is also a server to run the sidekicks. motorola makes the sidekick slide while Sharp makes the regular sidekicks like the LX, 3 and iD.

No, Danger is the OS for Sidekicks. Sharp makes the Sidekick 1, 2, 3, LX and all of the limited editions and Motorola makes the Slide.

The best phone 4 texting is the viewty, cause it uses a digital keyboard so that the phone would not look weired when ur texting like this 1. Its very responsive and gives a light vibration with every touch! This style of phone has 2 go.

I only know 1 person at my entire high school with the Slide.

Everyone went for the LX instead.

No, there is no 3G or Wi-Fi.

                      Pretty basic phone.

But I think this one is easier to text on than the LX, or any of the other Sidekicks.

I think there must be a mistake here.
There should be at least a wifi or 3G right?
Or is motorola targeting low end market?

I think EDGE is still a good bargain.
Sign up for free phone can be a idea...
                          :)

The Sidekick series looks like a big failure for teens who ike text messaging.
